Winter Film Tour

Join us for this year’s Arc’teryx Winter Film Tour. Conceived deep in the mountains and now travelling the world, our annual film tour features inspiring short films that celebrate uncommon journeys into the mountains.

Evening presented by Judy Kasiama, founder of Colour the Trails.
All proceeds from ticket sales will support Colour the Trails in continuing their work.

Every Island has a Name

Feel your way through an imaginary white cube with Elena Hight, Severin van der Meer, and Jared Elston and friends. Taking us on a guided tour that examines the similarities between snowboarding, craft, and art, Every Island Has a Name is an invitation to let your imagination soar.

Credits: Featuring Severin Van Der Meer, Elena Hight and Jared Elston. Directed by Achille Mauri.

Jamie
Jamie Logan – a pioneering alpinist – has climbed some of the most dangerous climbs in the world, but nothing felt as life-threatening as admitting that, at age 69, she wanted to begin living as a woman. This short film demonstrates that love and trust can be the ultimate act of rebellion.

Credits: Featuring Jamie Logan. Directed by Darcy Hennessey Turenne.

TIM
Tim Sackbauer is a skier hailing from Vail, Colorado who was also born with Down syndrome. Introduced to the mountains by his family, a tight-knit bunch with skiing in their DNA, he learns to carve his own path and rise above expectations. Taking to the slopes, he finds a refuge for expression, solace, and a way to navigate the complicated world around him.

Credits: Featuring Tim Sackbauer. Directed by Jordan Findlay.

Welcome to the Pit
In 2011, Steve Matthews had a bright idea—with his kids completely hooked on snowboarding, he rallied a few friends and set out to build Yellowknife’s first and only rope tow. Without city permission or permits, the team went to work on the abandoned gravel mine on the outskirts of town, creating what would eventually become the epicenter of community and snow-sliding in the Northwest Territories. Welcome to the Pit.

Credits: Featuring Steve Mathews, Stacy, Liam (Yellowknife locals). Directed by Seth Gillis.
